The Austrian-Italian soprano Anita Giovanna Rosati is praised by the press for “her wonderful bright timbre and humorous playing” (Der Standard), her “feather-light, nightingale-like sparkling soprano” (Salzburger Nachrichten) and as a “sovereign coloratura soprano” (Das Opernmagazin).
In the 2023-2025 seasons, Rosati was a member of the ensemble of the Salzburger Landestheater. She performed throughout this time roles such as Sacerdotessa in a new production of »Aida« at the Felsenreitschule Salzburg, as ICE in a contemporary production and Austrian Premiere of »Anthropocene« by Stuart MacRae, as Corinna in G. Rossini’s »Il Viaggio a Reims« and as Gretel in E. Humperdinck’s opera »Hansel and Gretel«.
More highlights of the past season were Colonnella in Salieri’s rarely performed opera »Il Mondo alla rovescia« at the Salzburg Landestheater, as well as Fantasca in an adaptation of Johann Strauss’ operetta »Indigo and the 40 Robbers« as part of the Viennese Johann Strauss Year 2025.
2025/26 Anita has joined the renowend festvial Maggio Musicale Fiorentino making her debut in Italy in a production by Alessandro Scarlatti »Il Ciro« with the Academia Montis Regalis under the baton of Chiara Cattani. She was also a winner of the 4th Hans Staud Music Prize and won the 1st prize as well as the special prize by the Viennese coffee brewers. Furthermore she travelled to Spain on tour with Barucco Vokal Ensemble as soloist in the “Mozart Requiem” in the Sala Sinfonica de Madrid, among other places.
Anita will also return to the Potsdam Music Festival this season performing in G. B. Bononcinis opera “Cefalo e Procride” with the Akademie für alte Musik Berlin.
Her previous engagements have taken her to well known festivals, Theaters and concert halls, including the Bregenz and Salzburg Festivals, Innsbruck Festival, Salzburger Landestheater, Landestheater Linz, Philharmonie Luxembourg, DNT Weimar, Theater Erfurt, Theater Altenburg – Gera, Opéra national de Lorraine (FR), Theater an der Wien, Kammeroper Wien, Neue Oper Wien, Johann Strauss 2025 Vienna, Wiener Musikverein, Wiener Konzerthaus, Konzertsaal MuTh, Liederhalle Stuttgart, Maggyart Festival (IT), Tage der alten Musik Herne, Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, Wratislavia Cantans (PO) and Rabenhoftheater Wien.
She has worked with renowned conductors such as Marc Albrecht, Stefan Solyom, Peter Leipold, Diego Matheuz, Enrico Calesso, Bernhard Forck, Leslie Suganandarajah, Heinz Ferlesch, Carlo Benedetto Cimento, Tobias Meichsner, Mason Lubert, Ivor Bolton, Antal Barnás, Samuel Bächli, Hannah Eisendle, Bas Wiegers, Alessandro de Marchi, Jörg Halubek, Walter Kobéra, Chiara Cattani, Raphael Schlüsselberg, Laurent Wagner.
Her incredible versatility has already been recognised twice by Media representatives with a Nomination for the Austrian Music Theatre Prize: in 2022 in the category “Best Newcomer” for the role of Dorillo in the opera production »Idalma« by B. Pasquini as part of the Innsbruck Festival under the direction of Alessandro de Marchi, directed by Alessandra Premoli. 2020 in the category “Best Supporting Female Role” for her interpretation of the housemaid and schoolgirl in the production of »Der Reigen« by B. Lang as part of the Bregenz Festival with the Neue Oper Wien under the direction of Walter Kobéra, directed by Alexandra Liedtke.
Anitas career was established in Vienna where she studied at Universtität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien under KS Edith Lienbacher and for her Masters under KS Gabriele Fontana. During her time there she took her first steps on stage with performances at the Theater an der Wien in 2018, where she celebrated her first successes as Jemmy in Rossini’s »Guillaume Tell«, directed by Thorsten Fischer, and in 2022 she appeared on the same stage as Jano in Janácek’s Jenufa. She also participated in the YSP at the Salzburger Festspiele and was a member of the Thuringian Opera Studio where she debuted over 10 roles including Papagena at the DNT Weimar, Brigitta in »Iolanta« by P. Tchaikovsky and Minerva in »Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria« by C. Monteverdi at the Theater Erfurt.
In addition to her operatic activities, concert and song recitals are part of her constant repertoire: Highlights were, among others, a concert tour with the baroque orchestra Arte dei Suonatori as part of G. Antonini’s festival “Wratislavia Cantans”, a song recital at the Vienna Konzerthaus as prizewinner of the Musica Juventutis Competition with A. Fröschl at the piano, in Goldenen Saal of the Musikverein in Handel’s oratorio “Israel in Egypt”, in Dvorák’s Mass in “D major Op. 86” in Großer Konzertsaal of the Konzerthaus, as well as concerts at the Trigonale Festival in Klagenfurt. This season she was given the honour of singing the opening of the 67th Kaffeesiederball at the Wiener Hofburg.
